So grateful!
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday and were glad to share it with family. We had a great breakfast with my Mom and then a traditional and wonderful dinner with my Dad and Kym. Eden and Olive especially had fun riding on a train with Conductor Papa. It was a great holiday and we hope you all have a wonderful holiday season.

Happy Halloween!
Well the National Guard put on a Halloween Trunk or Treat party on Saturday so the girls got to show off their costumes early this year. My mom has done an amazing job sewing Eden's Little Bo Peep costume. I've had fun working on Olive's costume, the only problem is she likes to shear herself, so I've got to re-glue cotton balls onto it after each time she wears it. They are so cute though. I just hope that we are all healthy enough to enjoy Halloween this year, because right now we've all managed to come down with colds. No fun.

Finally!

Well Dietrich finally made it home on August 26th and we've really enjoyed our time together. He didn't have work for about a month so we've been spending a lot of time together going to Bear Lake,

Happy Birthday to Olive!

Olive turned 1 on July 28th and to celebrate we checked out the Treehouse Museum in Ogden. It was a lot of fun and both Eden and Olive had a great time exploring all the different things.

Independence Day!
We had a nice 4th of July going to Park City's annual breakfast and parade. Eden had fun playing some of the carnival games, but didn't do so well with the fishing.
When the "fish" pulled on the line she just let go of the pole. We will have to have her dad work on her with that one when he gets home.
After the festivities in Park City we drove up to my Grandma's cabin at Bear Lake. It was so fun soaking up the sun and playing in the sand. The girls loved it so much and as soon as we got home Eden said "We need to go back to Bear Lake!"

I'm going to Disney World!
We just returned home from a wonderful vacation. We flew to Orlando and went to Walt Disney World and Dietrich was even able to drive down and join us for a few days!
After all that fun and excitement we drove back up to Georgia and were able to spend a whole week together at Fort Gordon. That part was super nice. It was so great being able to spend time together as a family and now we are counting down the days until Dietrich comes home.

Turtle
Well Olive just recently had her 9 month check up and she is growing and developing well. She is super tall and starting to crawl everywhere and pull herself up on the furniture and all that fun stuff. However if she falls on her back, or you lay her flat on her back she is completely useless. She has rolled over from that position a handful of times, but usually she just cries and flails her arms and legs until someone helps her roll over or sits her back up. It's probably something we should work on, but it sure is funny.

Happy Spring
We have had so much fun these past weeks celebrating Easter and spring. The weather has finally been nice so we have been going to the park to play. We spent some time in Logan and were able to see the Baby Animal Days at the American West heritage center and Eden had a ton of fun going for a pony ride and seeing the Easter Bunny.
We had a nice Easter Sunday and the girls looked so adorable in their new dresses.
Than we kept the party going and celebrated my birthday this last Sunday. Now we are trying to recover from all the fun and excitement, but it has been great!

Who is this guy?
Well amazingly enough, Dietrich received a week's worth of leave from the Army. So he took the earliest flight he could and spent a short four days at home before taking off this morning to drive back to Augusta, Georgia where he will be stationed at Fort Gordon for the next five months. When all is said and done he will have been in training for 15 months. Of course that is if nothing else goes wrong. Knowing our luck, something will. But it was wonderful having him home. He was able to dig out a box of clothes for Olive out of our storage unit that I had not so smartly packed away. I thought for sure he would be home to stay before she grew into the 9 and 12 month size clothes, but unfortunately that is not going to be the case. He also found a box of toys so it has been a little bit like Christmas at our house.
We went skiing Monday and even got Eden on a pair of skis for her first time. She was excited to put the skis and boots on, but didn't have a whole lot of fun when we actually got her going down the mountain. Maybe next season.
It took a little while for Olive to warm up to her dad, and she did just in time for him to leave again. It's been tough being apart, but we are able to talk to each other every day and we have a lot to be grateful for.

Good Times
We had so much fun President's Day Weekend. First we helped celebrate my Dad's 50th Birthday with a surprise party. That was exciting. Sunday, my Grandma Lucille and I drove down with the girls to St. George and stayed with my Uncle Doug and Aunt Janet. Eden had a blast getting into Heather's dress up clothes and it was great seeing my cousins that I hadn't seen for some time. Monday, after a nice breakfast, we drove down to Las Vegas to see Staci, David and Madison.
It was so fun spending time with them and seeing their new home. We went to the Shark Reef Exhibit at Mandalay Bay and it was really neat seeing all the aquatic life. We had a blast.
