First Haircut

I've been dreading getting Eden's haircut since she was little because she hates sitting still and I figured it would just be a nightmare. But luckily we watched an episode of Jon and Kate plus Eight and their kids all got haircuts and Eden thought that it looked like fun. So today we drove down to Cookie Cutters in Salt Lake and she got her first haircut. She had so much fun driving her pink car and watching Mickey Mouse while she got her hair cut and styled. It's about time too. It was starting to look pretty bad.

So sad

Our favorite Monday night entertainment is no more. Eden loved watching Dancing with the Stars and she insisted on wearing a dress and dancing along. It was so fun watching her. Look out Julianne Hough!

Happy Halloween!

Eden enjoyed monkeying around, and the baby went bananas this Halloween! Hope that you all had as much fun as we did!

Our trip to Oklahoma and Missouri

We were fortunate to have the opportunity to fly to Oklahoma to visit the Enkey family. Eden and Olive spent some quality time with Grandma and Grandpa Enkey and were able to meet some of their Aunts, Uncles, and cousins for the first time. It was wonderful to have that time together.

Another great part was being able to drive up to Fort Leonard Wood, MO to visit Dietrich for a couple of days. We spent some time on post and some time off, but we treasured every minute that we had together, however limited it was.

Eden enjoyed playing with her big brother Karic and it was great to be able to spend time with him and let him see what Army life is really like. He's planning on enlisting when he's older and his Dad was able to give him some good insights. It was so great having time together and we really enjoyed our trip. (Aside from the four hour layover in Phoenix on the flight home).

Eden's Two!!

Well we are officially into the terrible twos, although I think we have unofficially been at that stage for quite some time now. But Eden is truly a beautiful girl who just gets cuter with time. She is enjoying her role as big sister and loves to give Olive her binkie and blankie whether she wants them or not. She learns new words every day but her favorite seems to be "cookie." Usually she waits until bedtime and utters it with such desperation you would think that her life depends upon getting that cookie. I guess its a good thing she got a play kitchen from her Grandma so she can practice her cooking and baking skills now. She is certainly loved and spoiled, but she is a delight in our lives and we can't wait to see how she continues to grow and develop in the years to come.

Our trip to Kentucky

Here is Private Enkey with his two beautiful girls before his graduation from Basic Training at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Our time together was bittersweet and way too short. But it was wonderful seeing him and letting him see his newest baby girl, Olive.

He was able to bless her in Kentucky and it was great having that opportunity. Olive was blessed in a beautiful dress made by her Grandma Enkey, and both Grandfathers and her Uncle Brigham were able to take part in the blessing.

After Dietrich's graduation, he was whisked away to his next destination, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, and we were left missing him again. After a late lunch, the group broke up and we headed back to our hotel room for some much needed rest. Saturday we were able to go and visit Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky. We drove around the track and were able to see the stables where they keep the race horses. Eden had fun pretending to be a jockey at the museum, and it was interesting learning all about the Kentucky Derby. We had fun, but we sure miss Dietrich and wish we could have had more time together.
