Summertime

Well summer is still in full swing with us. Eden misses the kindergarten cutoff so we have been soaking up the sun and having lots of fun. Awhile back we met up with my cousin Staci and her two cute kids for some fun at the Discovery Gateway. We had never been before, but it was really a lot of fun. The kids all had a wonderful time playing pretend. It was so great to get together and play. Later that week we went to see my sister Brinley graduate from BYU. We were all so happy and proud of her for her accomplishments. Other than that we have been swimming four to five times a week, which has been awesome for both the girls. They have turned into such little fish. We stuck some goggles on them and they love going under water now. At the beginning of the summer Eden would scream and cry anytime I tried to get her to go underwater. She had a death grip on me anytime we went to a part of the pool where she couldn't touch. Now though, she loves going under water. She'll swim in the deep end, jump in all by herself, and dive down to the bottom to get toys. It's been so fun to watch them both improve in their swimming skills. We have also been working on our hiking skills, and both girls have done awesome as well. We found a fun hike that's only like a twenty minute drive from our house, and it is really gorgeous.
We read about it online and it said it was a moderate 3.5 mile hike with a beautiful 40 foot waterfall at the end, so we thought it might be a good one to do with the family. We ended up doing it twice, and the girls were troopers. Eden especially, she walked the entire way both times. The first time we did it we didn't have enough time to get all the way to the waterfall, so we ventured back today and made it the whole way this time. Olive didn't last long the first round, but today she probably hiked about half of it. It was great getting out into nature and enjoying the beautiful surroundings.

I love the girls matching swim suits, they are so cute. I'm jealous of the two sisters you get to dress up:) Looks like your summer has been really fun! So glad we got to see you a couple of times.

I am so proud of Eden for finally making it underwater! Give her a high five for me! And that looks like a sweet hike--once I'm back in Utah it might be one I have to hit!
